Cost of Living in Germany

The cost of Living can be different for each and every student; it significantly is based on the frugality of a person. An average German student spends 850€ a month on essentials like rent, food, insurance, clothing, phone, etc. but it might differ on the basis of cities. Big cities would obviously cost more and vice versa.

1.Rent

The majority of your funds would be spent on Rent. Statistically, a student spends somewhere between 290€ to 560€ per month depending upon the location and facilities of the house.

2.Health Insurance

In Germany, health is considered very important, and having a health insurance policy is mandatory. You’ll have 2 options in insurance. You can either opt for public insurance which will cost you around 80€ a month if you’re under 30 years of age, or you can opt for private insurance which will cost you around 110€ a month but it may differ depending upon the company and policy you choose.

3.Transportation

One of the perks you get from the Institution would be a semester ticket which provides you unlimited usage of the local transport system. So buses and trains are absolutely free for students but the perks don’t stop here. A student ID will enable you to purchase nationwide train tickets at a special price.

We’ll like to give you a list of your average monthly expenditure of a student.
