There are over 500 universities in Poland out of which approximately 131 are government-funded and 326 are privately owned universities. Polish Universities boast of a student population of over 3 Million every year and the country prides itself on having produced many notable university alumni, including the first ever woman to win a Nobel Prize, Marie Curie, and the famous astronomer Nicolaus Copernicus.
